Supporting Brisbane's new underground

The Cross River Rail project, Queensland’s largest public transport project, will help create the capacity needed to meet future predicted increased demand. The Rail, Integration and Systems (RIS) package of the Cross River Rail project is being delivered by the Unity Alliance, which includes, CPB Contractors, UGL Engineering, Jacobs Group and AECOM.

Cross River Rail is a new 10.2km rail line from Dutton Park to Bowen Hills which includes 5.9 km of twin tunnels under the Brisbane River and CBD.

The project includes four new underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street as well as upgrades to eight above ground stations including: Salisbury, Rocklea, Moorooka, Yeerongpilly, Yeronga, Fairfield, Dutton Park, and Exhibition.

Cross River Rail will unlock the bottleneck at the core of the current network.

This will allow more trains to run more often. The project will also integrate with roads and bus services, providing a turn-up-and-go transport system for the whole of South East Queenslan.

As Australia’s leading compaction experts we are proud to be supplying the project with compaction equipment and we know what it takes to help increase productivity and reduce downtime on projects of this nature.

Chosen as a key supplier for Compaction Equipment based on a combination of offering value for money, being a 100% Australian owned business and our ability to deliver the required services.

Our unique safety systems and fresh service approach also proved pivotal in the award of the contract. Safety systems including ROPS2, a Roll Over Preventative System with a two stage warning and function management, and unmanned technology are among the features that will be used on this project.

We have a robust reputation for ensuring projects are completed on time, ensuring flexibility and safety remain top of mind, and we’ve been doing it for over 59 years – so you can depend on us to exceed your requirements.

With Australia’s most comprehensive compaction equipment hire range, including more than 1000 rollers across all classes and application, we look forward to supporting the Unity Alliance for the duration of the project and wish them all the best on this project.

Two construction vehicles are seen on a dirt site under an overpass. One is an orange-and-black excavator with its bucket raised, and the other is a green-and-black tractor. In the background of the Cross River Rail project site, there are traffic lights, buildings, and cranes.

ROPS2 and unmanned rollers are excellent engineering controls that reduce the risk of roll over or remove people from the line of fire when working in areas with additional hazards.
