In order to build and strengthen a high-performing HSEQ culture right across the company, David works alongside the managers, employees, customers and suppliers to ensure our procedures are the best they can be.
This includes managing the independent certification process, auditing, working with the sales team to get the right HSEQ information to customers, incident investigations and integral learning, along with continual development.
With more than 20 years of experience in HSEQ, David’s previous 15 years have been spent within the labour-hire segment. During this time he has covered a variety of industries from transport, logistics, warehousing and cold storage, to food manufacturers and the risks within the waste industry. He has also worked in a variety of other manufacturing industries.
David has visited a lot of host client locations around Australia and believes what sets a company’s culture apart from others is how far down the corporate ladder safety is embedded into day-to-day business activities.
What does a typical day look like for David?
“In Safety, there is never a typical day, so my days are keeping abreast of each branch’s risks and ensuring safety items are addressed in a timely manner as my main priority. As well as keeping in touch with every branch to ensure I understand their issues are being addressed and to safeguard our workers and our customers from the hazards that exist in the compaction industry.”
How are David and his team looking towards the future?
“Getting feedback from staff and customers on what improvements we can implement, either from a system base or process base. As well as how we can make processes and procedures more efficient so that they will benefit everyone.”
